Brought onboard by Cushman & Wakefield, Fusion worked with Pri-Med to design a new office that would be unique to their needs. The challenge was their existing office layout and design didn’t resonate with their company image so a whole new look was needed. The team emphasized a desire for light, airy open spaces with a touch of sophistication and warmth that encouraged a sense of home for their headquarters.
Located between Newbury and Boylston streets, each side of the building had a great view of downtown. To maximize the amount of light in the space, offices and meeting spaces were pulled away from the window lines. Workstations were divided into teams that had its own unique collaboration area as an alternate work space. Utilizing the rich architecture, the bay windows provided perfect nooks for individual focus time. The café was tucked away towards the back as a hub removed from the open floor plate to create a cozy space for eating, meeting, and connecting. An adjacent conference room equipped with a motorized garage door allows this space to become an large meeting area with AV equipment.
Mixed metal accents at the glass fronts, hardware, decorative lighting, and furniture provided a layer of sophistication. Using wood through millwork, flooring and furniture provided warmth to the neutral textures of the carpets. Color was thoughtfully used in fun ways with wallcovering and ancillary furniture fabric. Faux brick walls complimented the Boston brick aesthetic completed with photography that encompassed their brand. Throughout the space, awards and recognitions were placed to display their proud history. Designed and built during a pandemic, Pri-Med is eager to fully start living in their new home.
