Foxrock Properties reimagined the lobby at 176 Federal Street to reflect local storytelling and create a vibrant experience for tenants. The design balances the building’s historic charm with modern finishes and a bold, expressive palette.

Known as a downtown “jewel box,” 176 Federal is famous for its parakeets - longtime residents who inspired a playful concept blending classical details with garden-inspired colors and patterns.

The transformed space feels airy and inviting, featuring marble floors, pilasters, a plush banquette, and pendant lights reminiscent of perched birds. The parakeets now have a larger, more visible home, set against a wood-clad elevator wall, mural, and custom rug that bring a sense of calm and delight.

Fusion’s design shows how even a small lobby can become a joyful oasis through thoughtful use of color, texture, and story.
