Brightcove - Fort Point
As the most trusted streaming company in the world, Brightcove prioritized an innovative, technology focused design approach. The new Fort Point global headquarters exudes creative energy with a down-to-earth, inviting, and inclusive atmosphere. Although technology is at the forefront, Fusion none the less sought to create a forward-thinking space that highlights key features of the industrial brick and beam shell.
The 6th floor reception area is anchored by a media wall made up of 9 large video displays that showcase Brightcove’s impressive technologies. Custom wall murals at select open collaborative spaces also echo Brightcove’s brand. As a juxtaposition to branding and technology- warm, natural, and inviting materials were used throughout enclosed meeting spaces. As Collaboration and teamwork are fundamental to how Brightcove functions, Fusion located numerous enclosed meeting rooms and open collaboration spaces are across both floors to encourage staff to move from their seats and foster engagement and creativity.
Interior enclosed rooms on the 7th floor are constructed as partial height “huts” which create privacy but allow the large volume of space to shine. As the top floor, large skylights flood the space with natural light, creating a comfortable and inspiring environment for staff.
The main hub of the office is the 7th floor café space. It is flexible enough to host all hands meetings, and with different types of seating and a fun, creative environment it also encourages employees to utilize this space as another destination to work, meet or collaborate throughout the day.
The focal point of the café is the oversized seating niche backdropped by a large custom mural commissioned from a local Boston artist. Its message reads “You Belong Here” – a fitting statement that truly captures the overall spirit of Brightcove’s culture and the tone of the office design.
